Halls Motorsport November Wrap

( Dec  3, 2014 ) - It is well documented that by this time last year, the Halls Motorsport outfit were riding a wave of feature race wins that dominated all headlines across the country.

That early season form then led to the team’s maiden World Series Sprintcars championship crown – one of the team’s key ambitions.

“It was a massive achievement to win the World Series Sprintcars Championship.” Explained Lines

“It’s a season long effort from the whole team, from car owner Brian Hall down to our crew and our sponsors.”

“Your racing week in and week out against the best cars in the country and to come out on top really put a stamp on what we have been working on as a team.”

With that bucket list item stored away in the trophy cabinet, the team sat down at season’s end and whilst content with that achievement, felt they had under achieved in the big races.

“We are really setting ourselves for the big races this summer. Races like the Classic, the Darley and the Australian Title.”

With that in mind, the team have used the lead in races through November to do some research and development.

“We have tried a few different things motor wise and played a bit with our shock packages.”

“We tested a couple things last weekend at Warrnambool for instance, using that a chance to try something to see if it worked ahead of the Classic.”

“It was a shame we cut down a tyre early in the night as that ruined our chances of really seeing how our setup would have stood up in the feature.”

Whilst treating the November month as test and tune, the team have still been thereabouts, showing that no-one should count out the Halls Haulage / Wilson Trailers backed outfit just yet.

Lines picked up the win at Borderline Speedway in a strong field of forty-three cars that included high caliber drivers like James McFadden, Daniel Pestka, and Luke Dillon.

The team also picked up a fourth at the Sprintcar Jackpot at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway as well as a sixth place finish recently at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway.

“We have been ok and have learnt quite a bit through November.”

“We will merge that with what we know works and start afresh this weekend.”

The team head to Murray Bridge Speedway this Saturday night for the South Australian Sprintcar Title.

“This is one of those big events we targeted for this summer, so it all starts now!” exclaimed Lines.
