Lines Delivers Christmas Cheer On The Eve Of Speedweek

( Dec  26, 2014 ) - The Halls Motorsport crew will roll into Speedway City today for the opening round of Speedweek with the best Christmas present anyone could ask for – the confidence from a solid race victory only a few nights earlier at Premier Speedway against a stout field of over sixty opponents.

As the defending World Series Sprintcars Champion, Lines enters ‘Speedweek’ - which doubles as the opening five rounds of the elite series – knowing full well that its consistency and getting the runs on the board early that is the recipe for success.

“The result at Warrnambool is exactly what we needed to know we have the package right for Speedweek.” explained Lines.

“We completely junked a car at Murray Bridge earlier in the month so we put this new car together and it was fast right out of the box.”

The two December meetings for the team prior to Christmas was somewhat indicative of the form line for the Perth owned Halls Haulage backed operation thus far in their 2014-15 campaign.

Openly admitting to toying with some different setup configurations on the KPC Chassis at various race meetings this summer, the form line hasn’t read anything like what the team have become renowned for.

Added to that a run of some serious damage to a number of chassis and one might think it’s been a horrendous start to the summer.

Internally however, the team are hitting the opening round of the World Series Sprintcars championship chock full of confidence.

From the twelve meetings contested this season, Lines has finished inside the top ten on eight of those nights.

Taking out the two nights of irreparable damage, the team has 5 podiums from its 10 A-Main starts.

In baseball terms, they are batting at .500 right now to finish inside the top three when they start the main race.

And it is that sort of consistency that counts.

The win at Premier Speedway was the second for the team this summer, adding to their win on home soil at Borderline Speedway in late November.

“It has been good to get a couple wins, especially on two tracks that figure on the World Series Sprintcars Speedweek.”

The two wins also came when the calibre of the opposition was strong.

“Its one thing to have the car speed, but to be able to out run guys like Hirst, McFadden and Veal who are all quality guys in top equipment is what you hang your hat on.”

“We now look forward to getting into Speedway City tonight and concentrating on what we can do.”

“We are looking to get the runs on the board early.”

You can catch Steven and the team at all rounds of Speedweek from tonight through to New Years Day at Premier Speedway Warrnambool.

Make sure you call down to the trailer and grab some of the array of Halls Motorsport #3 merchandise to support the team.
